An infrared point continuous gas detector using a silicon-based solid-state source, the Simtronics GD10P, can monitor Hydrocarbons or Carbon Dioxide gas. Suitable for Marine, Petrochemical, offshore and general industry applications. The PE version detects flammable gas in large volumes of air.

True dual-path double compensation optical design means no calibration is necessary, and maintenance is kept to a minimum; the GD10P monitors and accounts for changes in the optical path. The heated mirror and lens prevent condensation, and the GD10P continually self-tests, providing early warning of dirt on optics.

The Solid State IR source provides better long-term performance than filament lamps. Suitable for harsh environments with Stainless Steel housing and long-lasting. The warranty is five years for the detector and fifteen years for the solid-state IR optics.

Versions with the OLCT 60 gas transmitter are available, providing a local display of readings.

A firmware update adds the following capabilities

  • Overscale, or scaling, is now configurable
  • T90 can be configured between 1 and 9 seconds

The GD10P has been proven in the field, among countless real-life applications, for instance:

  • Detection of propane at industrial welding stations
  • Detection of ethanol when monitoring the storage of perfume essence
