The Kidde LHD4 AlarmLine Linear Heat Detector is a two-component heat detection system. Comprising of the LHD4 interface module and heat sensor cable. The cable senses a change in temperature, which provides a decrease in resistance exponential, which the interface module computes and provides an output to the control panel if the user predetermined alarm set point has been exceeded.
Ideal for deployment where point smoke or heat detectors are not permitted. Suitable for use in confined spaces or hard to access areas or hazardous areas, with intrinsically safe options available. Installation is easy; detector cable can surround the protected area or be placed around machinery. Alarmline cable is supplied in standard PVC, Nylon coated PVC or Bronze Braided PVC.
If a fire or overheating occurs, the Alarmline cable can be restored up to temperatures of 257°F (125°C). Higher temperatures will warrant replacement.
False alarm protection is built-in; the system will output a trouble condition in the event of an electrical fault or short circuit.
Examples of deployment are; open areas, cable trays, storage racks, freezer warehouses, fuel tanks, cooling towers, waste fuel drum storage, escalators and power distribution.
