The Drager Polytron 8000 is now obsolete the replacement is the Polytron 8100.
Formerly a fixed gas detector for Oxygen and Toxic gases, suitable for use in hazardous areas. A choice of over 100 available sensors with configuration and calibration data inbuilt reduces replacement and maintenance time. Low and high range sensor options for certain gases mean most applications can be covered. Drager’s years of sensor production experience ensures sensor durability, fast response, high accuracy/sensitivity and tolerance to interfering factors from other gases or changing conditions.
With HART capability and using Drager PolySoft software, the status of the Drager Polytron 8000 can be viewed remotely. Analogue signal output is included 4 to 20 mA under normal operation. Fieldbus systems are also supported, giving connectivity choice to control systems.
The backlit graphic LCD makes status visible. Flashing red indicating alarm, yellow error and green no hazard. Measuring ranges and units can be adjusted by the Matrix display. Menu options have been minimised for ease of use. The data logger has a memory of approximately 3000 measurements. If sampling each minute, around 50 hours, monitoring would be possible. The past 15 minutes logged results can be viewed in a graph by selecting information>datalogging>graph>confirm.
Options
- Transmitter housing choice Epoxy-coated copper-free aluminium or 316 L stainless steel for extreme environments
- Three relays enable the Polytron 8000 to act as an independent gas detection system
- Dongles: Sensor Test Dongle checks the sensor, Sensor Diagnostic Dongle indicates remaining sensor life and Data Dongle for logging and download of measurements/events to PC
- Available as flameproof or increased safety versions.
The detector requires 10 to 30 V DC electrical supply. The housing provides four mounting holes with pipe or duct installation kits available.
