3M Scott Safety Sabre Cylinder Range
Scott cylinders are available in Steel or lighter Carbon Fibre. Short-duration cylinders deliver 13-15 minutes of air and are used for escape. Self-contained breathing apparatus cylinders provide 30 minutes of air using a 6-litre cylinder or 45 minutes using a 9-litre cylinder (both 200-bar Steel versions). Longer durations relative to cylinder size can be achieved using 300 bar cylinders—all capacities calculated using an average wearer consumption rate of 40 litres per minute.
A high-pressure 379 bar Carbon Fibre range allows users to maintain the same working time at a higher flow rate without adding weight or size. All 379 cylinders have right-angle style valves, with three sizes: 5.7, 7.6 and 9.5 litres.
Cylinders are supplied, charged and empty. Pressurised cylinders are deemed hazardous for transportation, so decompressed versions are available. Some of the most common cylinders ordered are detailed below; for others, please enquire.
