The Stuart CB500 Hotplate by Cole Parmer has large rectangular plate dimensions, a width of 300mm and a length of 500mm. The heated area is 250mm by 450mm. The plate is constructed from chemically resistant Glass Ceramic, easily cleanable and allows a maximum temperature of 375°C. The ceramic stays cooler around the edges, reducing the probability of accidental burns. A large surface area is ideal for placing multiple small vessels for heating in education or large laboratory environments, accepting up to 30 x 100ml beakers.
On reaching temperatures over 50°C, a safety warning light alerts users of the surface temperature and automatically switches off on cooling. If the plate remains hot after shutting down, the light will continue to display if plugged into the mains.
The hotplate temperature is controlled by a simple analogue dial on the front of the hotplate, supplied with a power cord and side arms for portability.
