The Drager Polytron 2 XP EX is no longer available. Equivalent models are the Polytron 8200 or Polytron 8310 IR.
A combustible fixed gas detector for the ambient air. Two flammable sensor choices were available, a highly sensitive catalytic bead sensor providing fast response time or a poison-resistant infrared sensor. The IR sensor had a longer life span and was chosen in areas where other gases may be present that could damage a catalytic bead sensor.
A lone operator could set up the Polytron 2 XP EX using the infrared remote control without making the area safe. Menu access was also possible using a portable Hart device or the transmitter buttons.
Model choice depended on approvals required and if the relay option was chosen. The relay option gave two alarm settings and one fault allowing communication with warning instruments on site, providing a standalone system, and removing the need for a central controller.
- Measurement: Combustible gases and vapours; 0 to 100 %LEL
