The Stuart US152 Stirring Hotplate by Cole Parmer has plate dimensions of 150mm by 150mm and a maximum temperature of 325°C. A 700W element gives rapid heating and ensures even temperature distribution across the whole surface of the plate.
By inserting the optional SCT1 probe into the sample, the liquid temperature can be controlled. The aluminium silicon surface allows excellent heat conduction and can withstand daily knocks. The top plate has a thin Ceramic coating for a chemically resistant surface.
Powerful magnets and a motor provide the stirring action, speed is adjustable between 100 to 2000 rpm, mixing volumes up to fifteen litres for single stirring operation only. The combination of mixing heating provides excellent temperature uniformity throughout the sample.
A light displays when the surface temperature exceeds 50°C, warning the operator, even if unplugged.
Stirring and Temperature control is analogue operated by the two separate knobs at the hotplate stirrer’s front. The LED temperature indicator scale illuminates as the surface plate heats up to set temperature. Supplied complete fitting for retort rod, 2 x 25mm PTFE coated stir bars and power cord.
