The Stuart SB500 Hotplate by Cole Parmer, has large rectangular plate dimensions, width 300mm and length 500mm with heating across the full surface area. The top plate is made from aluminium-silicon alloy, which can withstand everyday knocks. The surface provides excellent heating uniformity, for quick and efficient heating. The maximum temperature is 300°C.
Use of the whole surface area means a collection of small vessels can be heated simultaneously—ideal for large labs or educational institutions, maximum capacity 30 x 100ml beakers. Once hotplate temperature climbs above 50°C, a flashing warning light informs the operator to prevent burning. When turned off, the visual warning still shows if the hotplate is still plugged into the mains and temperature is >50°C.
Heating control is operator adjustable by analogue, using the knob situated at the front of the hotplate, supplied complete with a power cord and side arms for portability.
