The Stuart SB300 Hotplate by Cole Parmer has plate dimensions 300mm by 300mm with heating across the full surface area. Heated power is 0.6kW. The top plate is made from aluminium/silicon alloy, which is sturdy and durable—providing excellent conduction enhancing energy efficiency and giving a maximum temperature of 300C.
The whole surface area can be used; one ten litre vessel can be heated or a collection of smaller ones. When the hotplate temperature reaches above 50°C, a flashing warning light informs the user of the high surface temperature to prevent burns. The visual warning will still display when turned off, providing the hotplate is still plugged into the mains, and the temperature remains high.
Temperature control is analogue operated by the dial at the hotplate’s front.
