The Stuart Aquatron Water Still A4000 by Cole Parmer produces four litres of single distilled water in one hour. The A4000D model has the same volume but double distilled water. Both models, housed in a cabinet, feature borosilicate glassware and silica sheathed heaters outputting high purity pyrogen free distillate. The condenser allows distilled droplets extended contact with a cooling coil, which transfers energy and provides cold distilled water ready to be used.
The glassware makes maintenance easy, cleaning is possible without dismantling, using the clean function and integral acid addition funnel. Strong mineral acid provides fast descaling. Any cleaning chemicals can be drained using the large bore stopcock with PTFE key.
Unsupervised operation is possible with inbuilt safety features. Should the flow of water dip below operation threshold, detected by a flow level sensor, the still will shut down automatically to prevent overheating. When the reservoir is full of distilled water, a reservoir water level sensor switches off heating and coolant water supply. The process starts again automatically once the level is reduced. Located in the boiling chamber is an over-temperature thermostat. Also included acrylic screen and cabinet lid. For easy removal without damage, all water connections have screwed thread connections.
A4000: Output 4 litres per hour single distilled water. Can be placed on a laboratory bench or be wall mounted. Wall mounting bracket included.
A4000D: Output 4 litres per hour double distilled water for higher purity levels. The first stage distillation is carried out in a glassware set mounted at the cabinet’s front, allowing easy access for descaling. The distilled water is fed to the second set of glassware mounted at the rear and distilled a second time. The rear glassware is fitted with a level sensor to ensure the heater is only activated when there is sufficient water in the boiler.
