The Radiodetection RD7100 is a precision instrument for locating subsurface pipes or cabling to avoid damage, resulting in costs, downtime and endangering personnel. The range has four industry-specific models; all detectors incorporate advanced locating technologies for locating buried utilities.
Menus are customised according to industry; users benefit from only seeing necessary options making the RD7100 simple to use. Options allow for data logging and GPS so data can be tagged to location. Operators patterns of use are stored, allowing improvements, for example, training and following protocol.
Supplied in a sealed case, IP65 rated suitable for harsh environments. Calibration of the range can be done online using the RD Manager software, removing the need to return the locator.
Models
RD7100SL – Construction Industry
The easy-to-use SL version is equipped with four active and two passive frequencies covering the bulk of building site locator requirements.
RD7100DL(G) – Water Industry
With four sonde frequencies, the DL version can locate underground pipes constructed of most material, for example, cast iron, clay, concrete and brick. When the Cathodic Protection System (CPS) signals are induced to pipelines, these can be located.
RD7100PL(G) – Power Industry
For deployment in highly populated cabling locations, higher voltages and cables create a maze of signals, complicating location finding. Dynamic Overload Protection diminishes interference; power filters help determine whether power is picked up from one source or several cables.
RD7100TL(G) – Telecom Industry
TL versions use higher frequencies that enable high impedance cables amongst a mass of cable pairs. Sonde frequencies trace duct and conduits. Higher frequencies also are ideal for locating sheathed domestic cables without earthing connections. Cable sheath faults can be located within 100mm using 8kHz fault find mode with a Radiodetection A-Frame.
