The ALTAIR 5X Gas Detector can measure up to six gases simultaneously and is now available with an integrated PID sensor for VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) detection.
The ALTAIR 5X utilises state-of-the-art sensor technology. By miniaturising the electronics that control the sensors and integrating them into the sensors themselves, MSA XCell Sensors provide superior stability, accuracy, and repeatability, with a typical lifespan more than double the industry average.

- Typical life greater than four years for combustible, O2, CO/H2S, SO2, CO/NO2 & CO (high concentration) sensors.
- Typical life greater than three years for NH3 & Cl2 sensors.
- Most sensor responses & precise times are <15 seconds.
- Less calibration gas used:
- Requires about half of the test gas typically used for calibration & bump tests.
- Rapid bump test gives results in less than 10 seconds for most common sensor configurations.
- Span calibration time of 60 seconds for most common sensor configurations.
- MotionAlert feature option tells others that the user has become immobile.
- InstantAlert feature provides a manual alarm to alert others to a potentially hazardous situation.
