Kidde Alarmline II AD88 is a range of Digital Linear Heat Detection (LHD) cable with a 88°C (190°F) fixed temperature activation rating, by UTC Fire & Security. Available with PVC, Nylon, Polypropylene or Stainless Steel over PVC outer sheath. Supplied in rolls of 100, 500 or 1000 metres.
- PVC outer sheath cable is suitable for internal applications only, cUL/UL 521 approved, and FM approved (Class 3210).
- Nylon outer sheath cable has UV protection and increased durability for external applications, cUL/UL 521 approved.
- Polypropylene outer sheath cable has increased chemical protection in caustic environments.
- Stainless steel over PVC outer sheath cable is designed for increased mechanical protection.
Alarmline II Digital Cables are non-resettable line type heat detectors, a temperature sensor in the form of a continuous cable. The insulation softens when the alarm temperature is reached, causing the two twisted conductors to short circuit.
The advantage of the digital cable is being able to pinpoint the increase in temperature or fire, exactly along a cable up to 3000m in length using the optional Digital Location Control unit.
Digital sensor cables can be connected to almost any monitored circuit which is capable of monitoring a switched status from open to closed, i.e. Conventional detection zone, Zone Monitor Unit etc. Digital cables are non-resettable as the section subjected to the increase in temperature will be destroyed, damaged parts of cable can easily be replaced by cutting and splicing in new segments of cable.
