Kidde Alarmline II AD218 is a range of Digital Linear Heat Detection (LHD) cable with a 218°C (424°F) fixed temperature activation rating, by UTC Fire & Security. Available as Nylon cable or Nylon Sheath with SS Braid sheath. Supplied in rolls of 100, 500 or 1000 metres.
- Silicon outer sheath giving chemical and UV protection, cUL/UL 521/FM approved.

Alarmline II Digital Cables are non-resettable line type heat detectors, a temperature sensor in the form of a continuous cable. The insulation softens when the alarm temperature is reached, causing the two twisted conductors to short circuit.
The advantage of the digital cable is being able to pinpoint the increase in temperature or fire, exactly along a cable using the optional Digital Location Control unit.
Digital sensor cables can be connected to almost any monitored circuit which is capable of monitoring a switched status from open to closed, i.e. Conventional detection zone, Zone Monitor Unit etc. Digital cables are non-resettable as the section subjected to the increase in temperature will be destroyed, damaged parts of cable can easily be replaced by cutting and splicing in new sections of cable.
