The Honeywell SHC-1 Handheld Interrogator is a portable, Intrinsically Safe (IS) device which can be used to calibrate, test, and commission the Searchpoint Optima Plus and Searchline Excel gas detectors.
The SHC-1 interrogator communicates with detectors via a digital RS-485 link. Electrically, this link can be made either by using the IS socket on the DVC100 X100 or by connecting the flying leads on the SHC Protection Device (04230-A-1025) to the corresponding junction box terminals.
Warning: The IS certification of the SHC-1 Handheld Interrogator only remains valid if it is used in conjunction with the DVC100 / DX100 or the SHC Protection Device. Do not attempt to connect the SHC-1 interrogator directly to units; always use either the DVC100 / DX100 or the SHC Protection Device.
