The FSL100-TLX (test lamp) is an Intrinsically Safe (IS), battery-operated, hand-held IR and UV radiation source that is specifically designed to test Honeywell FSL100 series flame detectors in both safe and hazardous areas. The detection range is approximately 4 meters (13 ft).
Operation
This is typically a two-person operation, with one person at the detector and another at the controller. Additionally, you may need extra fire-watchers while the alarms are inhibited.
- Inhibit or isolate all affected relay outputs before beginning the test.
- The test lamp will turn on/off by pushing/releasing the push button.
- Aim the test lamp at the flame detector from a distance of ≅4 m (13 ft).
- Operate the test lamp for ≅approximately 30 seconds and verify that the alarm operates correctly. Do not use the test lamp for longer than 1 minute continuously.
- Reset the alarm and test the next detector.
