The Teledyne FV-40 FlameVision series are smart, flexible flame detector solutions resistant to false alarms. Models have heated sensor windows to eliminate condensation and icing, sensitivity selection and flexible communication options.
Designed to sense multiple types of flame for a variety of industries and budgets; Single IR, Triple IR (IR3), Multi IR, UV, UV/IR2.5μm, UV/IR4.5μm and Ultra-Fast UV/IR detectors. Units are available with or without a built-in test (BIT) capability.
Housing is 316L stainless steel and all circuit boards are epoxy-coated for protection. All units meet MIL-C-810C standards for humidity, salt, fog, vibration, mechanical shock and temperature extremes.
All models include a 3-colour LED and communications for 0-20mA, HART, RS-485 and MODBUS. Three built-in relays (alarm, fault and auxiliary) trigger external warning systems.
Model Types
FV-40 Single IR detects hydrocarbon-based fuel and gas fires working at 4.5 μm for maximum sensitivity. For indoor use, low-cost solution. High immunity to false alarms from sunlight and IR projectors.
FV-40 UV detects organic & inorganic flames; hydrocarbon-based fuel and gas fires, invisible hydrogen flames, and fires from hydrides, ammonia, silane and other organics. For indoor use, low-cost solution.
FV-40 UV/IR 2 detects hydrocarbon-based fuel and gas fires, hydroxyl and hydrogen fires, as well as metal and inorganic fires, operating at an IR wavelength of 2.5-3.0 µm. The FV-40 UV/IR 4 operates at an IR wavelength of 4.5 µm and is suitable for hydrocarbon-based fires. Both have increased immunity to false alarms caused by solar radiation.
FV-40 Triple IR detects hydrocarbon-based fuel and gas fires at long-distance inside or outdoors, highest immunity to false alarms. Detects a 1-foot ² (0.1 m²) gasoline pan fire at 215 feet (65 metres) in less than five seconds.
FV-40 IR4 (Multi IR) detects hydrocarbon and hydrogen flames at long distances with the highest immunity to false alarms. Can detect a gasoline pan fire at 215 feet (65 metres) or a hydrogen flame at 100 feet (30 metres) in less than five seconds.
