This furnace is now obsolete. The nearest replacement model is the TF1 12/60/600.
The Carbolite CTF 12/65/550 is a horizontal single-zone furnace with an integral wire-wound work tube with an internal diameter of 65 mm and a heated length of 550mm. The maximum temperature is 1200°C, with a continuous operating temperature of 1100°C. Heat-up time is 45 minutes. Uniform length is 230 mm plus or minus 5°c. Maximum power consumption is 2000 watts.
For an inert atmosphere and vacuum, a separate, longer work tube can be purchased for insertion into the furnace’s in-built ceramic work tube. The protruding ends can then have plugs, seals, gas, or vacuum adaptors added. There is also a choice of tube material with different resistance properties to prevent damage for specific applications.
Common CTF range features
- Inbuilt tube wire-wound Tube.
- Supplied with Carbolite Gero 301 controller, with one ramp to set temperature.
- Delayed start/process timer functionality.
- Horizontal configuration mounted on a control module.
- The furnace can be mounted vertically using an L stand, with the controller in a separate control box.
Used widely in industry, such as for testing novel materials, electronics/Semiconductors under inert atmospheres or vacuum, and temperature sensors such as thermocouples and PT100s, a three-zone furnace is recommended for enhanced thermal uniformity.
Options
- Electrical configuration: 2-phase electrical supply possible.
- Over-temperature protection is used when the furnace contains valuable contents or is left unattended for extended periods.
- Insulation plugs, Work Tube Seals & Radiation shields to increase uniformity and combat heat loss.
- A range of eight to twenty-segment programmable digital controllers and data loggers is available with RS232 and RS485 communication options.
- Pumps for vacuum applications include rotary vane pumps and turbomolecular pumps.
