The Carbolite Gero CF 15 is a bench-mounted cupellation furnace with H 125 x W 215 x D 270 mm chamber dimensions. The heating elements allow continuous operation at a maximum temperature of 1200°C. The furnace can accommodate 15 no. 8 cupels OR 24 no. 6 cupels. Full power is 9000 watts.
Designed for testing the purity of precious metals by fire assay or cupellation by the method set out by the UK Assay Office standard ISO11426:1999. Also, complaint with Hallmarking stipulations laid down by the Convention on the Control and Marking of Articles of Precious Metals or Precious Metals Convention, Hallmarking Convention or Vienna Convention.
The CF 15 Cupellation furnace is supplied with a 301 controller with one ramp to set temperature and process timer. This can be upgraded to a twenty-four-segment programmer with storage and communications options. Please enquire with Norrscope for further details.
When undertaking the test, hazardous, corrosive fumes are created. To protect the operator, these are extracted by an exhaust duct and collected condensed lead can be removed by a container. The Silicon Carbide heating elements are mounted at the top and bottom of the chamber, providing uniform heating of cupels; an observation hole is included on the door.
