BW Gas Alert Micro Clip XT gas detector by Honeywell is now obsolete and has been superseded by the XL model which is the same instrument, with superior battery life. The XT gave typically 10 hours compared to the XLs 18 hours, under normal conditions. For a long-life version of the former detector use the Clip X3.
A BW Technologies four gas monitor for Flammable gas 0-100% LEL 0-5.0% v/v, Oxygen 0-30% , Carbon Monoxide 0-500 ppm and Hydrogen Sulphide 0-100 ppm. With single, two and three gas models available in the range.
Alarm setpoints for all sensors were user adjustable. Alarms were audible 95 dB, visual by bright wide-angled visual alarm bars and vibrating – for use in high noise areas. Equipped with an LCD the BW GasAlert Microclip XT showed real-time gas concentration and was user-configurable to allow compatibility with individual site safety and compliance procedures. For example, use could be forbidden if the Gas Alert MicroClip was outside calibration, or not bump tested.
Self-testing features for the battery, sensors and alarms were built in. The detector was portable and light only 190 g and 11.3 x 6.0 x 3.1 cm in size and supplied with clip for donning. The operation was simple by icon menus and one-button operation. Powered by a rechargeable lithium-polymer battery. IR options for download and fully compatible with Honeywell’s automated calibration units such as the Microdock II.
