TD005 Denso Tape is a grease-saturated, non-hardening, and non-cracking fabric tape used, among other things, to protect buried conductor joints in earth electrode systems.
Features & Benefits
- Highly impermeable – Excellent resistance to mineral acids, alkalis, salts and micro-organisms.
Application
Denso is a cold-applied wrap tape that remains plastic across a wide range of temperatures, offering ideal protection for underground conductor joints.
It is made from non-woven synthetic fibre, saturated and coated with a neutral compound based on petroleum hydrocarbons (Petrolatum) and inert siliceous fillers.
Installation
- It is recommended that grease-resistant gloves are worn before handling Denso Tape.
- The tape should be wrapped tightly around the joint to cover all parts. Furthermore, conductors should be covered by the tape to a distance of 50 mm from the joint.
- After application, at least two layers of tape should be applied and carefully moulded around the joint.
